About TCA

The Train Collectors Association™, formed in 1954, is the world's most prestigious collecting society.

Its tens of thousands of members participate in National activities, and those of twenty divisions around the United States and the world.

TCA operates the National Toy Train Museum and the National Toy Train Library at its Strasburg, PA headquarters. It provides regular publications to its members, including the Train Collectors Quarterly and the National Headquarters News. A National convention is held in a different area each year, and major "train meets" where members or the public meet to discuss trains and to observe, buy and sell them, are also conducted by its divisions. Its Kids Club fosters interest for future hobby participation.

Some members focus on collecting toy trains, others on operating them on complex layouts, while others focus on their history and characteristics.

TCA maintains formal Standards concerning the classification of toy trains and the conduct of its members in train-related transactions.

Other services include a massive web presence with toy train information and hobby promotion.
